Travel planning:

As can be seen from the schedule the train runs to and from Mikumi National Park three times a week allowing plenty of flexibility in an itinerary. From Mikumi National Park there is a road schedule running up to Iringa and then either to
Ruaha National Park or the Southern Highlands. There are planes flying from Selous to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar or up to Arusha in the north. There is also the opportunity to fly from Mikumi to Ruaha National Park and onwards to Katavi National Park in the far west of Tanzania.
